With Grand Theft Auto being the main industry franchise most games are trying to emulate these days, sometimes its neat to check out what led Rockstar Games to the astonishing success that it has today. On their website, Rockstar has what is titled as “Rockstar Classics,? and apparently this is the third volume in the series. The list of free PC games include:
Grand Theft Auto

Grand Theft Auto 2

Wild Metal
This may come as a shock to many of you gamers out there (and Peter Moore) that there actually was two previous games in the franchise before megahit Grand Theft Auto 3. While they still embody the basic go anywhere, do anything gameplay of the 3d titles, these are all top down 2D style sandbox games.

So if your interested in some of the history behind Rockstar before their controversial court cases and Hot Coffee Mods, check out their site for the free downloads, after all it is free.

Don't take my word for it but imagine just for a second that one of these was released. It would have been before the PSP and many consider the PSP to be a failed released system. Would of the previous systems that TechEBlog reported helped the PSP or not helped?
